Yumi no Uchi (Dreaming)
Tori returns almost to the same position as in Tai. The difference is that he
stands a little more to the left. Uke attacks in the same way as in Tai. Tori
and Uke walk diagonally as in Tai. Tori tries to throw as in Tai.
Uke resists the throw by moving his left foot backwards. Tori changes the
direction and throws Uke forward with Yoko-wakare, Ma-sutemi-waza. Uke rolls
over Tori and stands up. He does not bend his knees.
After the throw, Tori spreads his arms and legs. Tori´s body will look like the
character Dai (big). In this position, Tori bends his feet and toes
upwards, towards his own knees. This is because of the kinds of shoes that
samurai warriors used to wear.
Note:
The original technique in Kito-ryu involved uke
to grab his belt and run in front of him and try to bring tori with him to
throw.
