Yoko-tsuki (Dagger thrust to side)

Uke stands up and walks to the right side of Uke. Uke sits down at Tori's right side. He first sits down with his knees slightly behind the line of Tori's knees. Uke then moves forward to align his knees with Tori's knees. Uke shouts and tries to thrust the knife in Tori's right side (fig. 1). The edge of the knife is upwards.

Tori makes a tai-sabaki of 180 degrees. He shouts and strikes Uke between his eyes, at his uto (fig. 2).

Tori executes a Ude hishigi hara gatame (fig. 3), like in the first knife technique (Tsukkomi). Uke taps with his left hand on the mat.

Tori and Uke return to their positions as before this technique. Uke sits at Tori's right side. Uke puts the knife back into the imaginary scabbard inside his jacket.

Uke stands up. He walks back and sits down in front of Tori at the same place as before this technique. Uke stands up again. He turns away from Tori and walks towards the place where he puts his weapons. Uke kneels down. He takes out the knife with the imaginary scabbard and puts it on the mat. The hilt of the knife is towards Shômen. The edge of the knife is towards the centre of the mat. Uke then stands up. Tori stands up simultaneously. Uke turns around and walks towards Tori. They meet in the centre of the mat.

Note: Figure 2 and 3 is from a different angle.
